Honoring Black History Month: 5 Remarkable Women Who Changed History

Black History Month is a time to recognize and celebrate the contributions of Black individuals who have shaped history. While many icons are widely known, there are countless unsung Sheroes whose legacies deserve recognition. Here are five remarkable women whose impact should not be forgotten:

Hazel Scott
A revolutionary jazz and classical pianist who refused to perform for segregated audiences, paving the way for artists of color.

 Dr. Rebecca Lee Crumpler
Breaking barriers as the first Black woman physician in the U.S., her legacy continues to inspire medical professionals today.

 Pauli Murray
A visionary civil rights activist whose legal work laid the foundation for landmark equality cases.

Fannie Lou Hamer
Her powerful advocacy transformed voting rights and showed us the strength of grassroots organizing.

 Charity Adams Earley
Led the groundbreaking 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion, now playing on Netflix featured in Tyler Perry's "Six Triple Eight."

Preparing for the Queens March 2025

The Queens March 2025 is happening on March 26 in Charlotte, NC! This year’s theme, “Women in Music”, will highlight the powerful influence of women in the industry through a dynamic fashion show, art exhibit, and live performances.

Despite the recent executive order to stop federally recognizing Women’s History Month, we remain committed to celebrating the resilience, contributions, and cultural influence of women everywhere. The Queens March is more than an event—it’s a movement that honors the legacy of women past and present.
